Avant Homes brings golden share scheme to Edinburgh development
Avant Homes has unveiled a new collection of homes at its Balfour Park development in Newcraighall, some of which are being made available to buyers as part of the City of Edinburgh Council’s affordable housing tenure, Golden Share.
Among the new two, three and four-bedroom homes at the 223-home development, is the two-bedroom The Cranford housetype, which eligible purchasers can buy for 80% of the market value, but still benefit from owning 100% of their home, through the initiative.
The Golden Share scheme requires buyers to have a local connection to where they’re looking to purchase, a requirement for a property of the size they have an interest in and evidence they’re not able to solely purchase a home without the scheme. Following the purchase of a Golden Share home, owners will be able to sell their homes in the future for 80% of the current market value.
The Cranford homes are located within the heart of the development overlooking the village green and come complete with a design-led specification, open-plan living space, utility room and two double bedrooms.
Avant Homes Scotland sales and marketing director, Theresa Barbour, said: “Our Balfour Park development has proven very popular with buyers looking to live within easy reach of Edinburgh.
“We’re pleased to be able to give keen purchasers even more homes to choose from at the development and to offer a selection of properties as part of City of Edinburgh Council’s Golden Share scheme.
“With their fantastic location within the development and Avant Homes’ superior specification included, we’re sure they will get snapped up quickly.”
In addition, a further three housetypes have been made available to purchase at Balfour Park. These include The Hamilton, The Asbury and The Rosebury. Each home features flexible open plan living space, exclusive kitchen designs with integrated appliances, bi-fold doors, and master bedrooms with fitted wardrobes - all included as part of the purchase price.
