Lift maintenance and repair specialist Pace Group has acquired Bradford Lifts Limited and Atlas Lifts & Services from Aberdeen, expanding its footprint across Yorkshire and Scotland.
The West Midlands-headquartered business, which maintains and repairs elevators, service lifts and stairlifts to improve their safety, performance and lifespan, has brought Shipley-based Bradford Lifts and Aberdeen-based Atlas Lifts into the group.
Both businesses specialise in elevator maintenance. Following the transactions, 25 employees will join Pace Group, deepening its expertise and experience across both regions and bringing overall headcount to 207. Together, the acquisitions bring 700 units from Bradford Lifts and 300+ from Atlas Lifts, increasing the core maintained units to c.10,000 in addition to a growing portfolio of stairlifts, platform lifts and access equipment.
LDC-backed Pace Group’s management team, led by directors Scott Haywood and Lukas Schlenker, in July 2024. Since then, the group has made 17 complementary acquisitions and grown revenue by 65% from £19.3m to £32m for the year ending September 2025.
Scott Haywood, director of Pace Group, said: “Bradford Lifts and Atlas Lifts each bring highly skilled teams that share our commitment to exceptional customer service and technical excellence. They add meaningful scale in the North and bolster our growing foothold in Scotland.
“With LDC’s continued support, we’re building momentum and remain focused on building a premier national elevator maintenance business capable of meeting the evolving needs of customers.”
Matt Newbold, investment director at LDC in the West Midlands, added: “What Scott and Lukas have achieved in under two years is hugely impressive - seventeen acquisitions, each one building on the Group’s capabilities and market position.
“There’s significant consolidation still to happen across UK lift maintenance, and the market fundamentals are strong - ageing infrastructure, stricter regulations and rising insurance and safety obligations mean demand for specialist maintenance expertise is only increasing. We’re excited to keep backing them as they build a platform of scale across the UK.”
On the Bradford Lifts acquisition, Pace Group was advised by Higgs, with Awb Charlesworth Solicitors advising sellers. On the Atlas Lifts acquisition, Pace Group was advised by Higgs LLP and Altius Group, with Gunner Cook advising sellers.
