Approval granted for 264 ‘zero carbon ready’ homes at South Stirling Gateway
Families in Stirling are set to benefit from new homes, investment in local education, and upgraded infrastructure after plans for 264 properties in Bannockburn were unanimously approved.
Stirling Council’s Planning and Regulation Panel gave the green light to Phase 2 of Persimmon Homes East Scotland’s Brucefields development on Tuesday, paving the way for a major expansion of the growing community.
The development will include 129 of Persimmon’s zero carbon ready homes, designed to be more energy efficient and help reduce household bills. In addition, 69 homes will be delivered under the homebuilder’s premium Charles Church brand, ensuring the development caters to a variety of local needs – from first-time buyers and growing families to downsizers.
A key part of the plans is the delivery of 66 affordable homes, which will be specifically allocated to help local people in housing need.
The development will also see around £4 million invested into local services, including £3.5m to increase local school capacity, helping to ensure the area can support a growing population.
Improvements to local infrastructure are also planned, alongside new walking and cycling routes linking the development to the nearby primary school and surrounding areas. A new linear park will also be created, providing additional green space for residents.
Neil Martin, Persimmon Homes East Scotland planning director, said: “The next phase of our popular Brucefields development will deliver a variety of high-quality homes that ensures there’s something for everyone at South Stirling Gateway. Alongside much needed, energy efficient new homes, it will also bring real investment into local schools, infrastructure, and green spaces.
“We are committed to creating a well-balanced community and look forward to working closely with local partners to deliver lasting benefits for residents.”
