The development was formally opened recently by cabinet secretary for justice and local MSP, Humza Yousaf.

Arc-Tech’s focus is on the Grade B listed former school building where works will be considerate to the preservation of the building and key features, in keeping with its heritage, whilst installing services to create a modern, functional office environment.

Mechanical services include pipework, above ground drainage, cutting edge heat recovery ventilation systems and building management systems in order to provide an intelligent building. Electrical services include lighting combined with sophisticated control systems, fire detection, access control and intruder alarm systems as well as communications infrastructure.

John Gallacher, Arc-Tech managing director, said: “The Hills Trust development is a hugely important project for Elderpark Housing Association and for the wider community of Govan. The primary school is an important part of the local heritage and the works to preserve the building will be both challenging and extensive but our hugely experienced site team will ensure works are delivered to the highest quality standard.

“We look forward to seeing how works will progress toward its completion later this year.”

Gary Dalziel, chief executive of Elderpark Housing Association, added: “The new office will be a significant event for Elderpark Housing as we continue to grow our organisation. We are excited about how the former school will take shape and become a prominent feature within the local community again.”

Both elements have been designed by Mast Architects with Reid Associates, AECOM, Design Me, G3 Consulting Engineers (formerly SBA) and CPA Landscape Architects making up the design team. CCG (Scotland) Ltd has been appointed as the contractor.
