Beith Primary pupils set to enjoy Easter treats thanks to developer donation

Pupils with the Easter eggs at Beith Primary School

Every pupil at Beith Primary School will receive an Easter egg this year after Persimmon Homes West Scotland made a £1,000 donation to the school as part of its Community Champions scheme.

The donation was made to the school’s Parent Council, with some of the funding put towards buying an Easter egg for every pupil, helping the school mark the end of term with a fun treat as the holidays begin.

Persimmon’s Community Champions initiative sees each of its regional businesses provide regular funding to local good causes – supporting schools, charities, and community groups across the areas where it builds new homes. The home builder’s Kings Gate development in Beith is delivering 191 new homes.

The school’s house captains were on hand to receive the Easter egg delivery and will be helping to distribute them to classmates before the holidays.

Chris Logan, managing director of Persimmon Homes West Scotland, said: “We’re pleased to support Beith Primary School and help provide Easter eggs for pupils this year – it’s a simple way to bring a few smiles at the end of term.

“Through our Community Champions programme we’re proud to support local schools and community groups in the areas where we are building, including here in Beith where our Kings Gate development is proving popular with local people.”

Chairperson of the Parent Council, Linda Tricker, said: “I want to say a heartfelt thank you to Persimmon Homes for the generous donation to allow us to buy Easter Eggs for all 311 children in the school and 60 children in our early years setting. This will bring so much joy to each child and a is lovely way to celebrate Easter.

“On behalf of the Parent Council, pupils, and staff, we are incredibly grateful for the support and show of community spirit.”
