Clark Contracts gets muddy for mental health

Six Clark Contracts employees took part in this year’s Scottish ‘Tough Mudder’ challenge at Drumlanrig Castle on June 3 to raise over £1,000 for their nominated company charity SAMH.

The Tough Mudder is a team-based obstacle course race and mud run which takes place all over the UK. The event has raised over £20 million for UK charities over the past decade.

Employees from the main contractor’s Construction Division’s Quantity Surveying team and Recruitment and HR team completed the 10-kilometer course consisting of 20 world famous obstacles. Some of the obstacles completed included a dunk in a 34-degree ice pit, electroshock therapy, mud mountains and a cage crawl along a pit of water.

Gordon Cunningham, managing director of Clark Contracts, said: “It is fantastic to see our employees getting involved in this hugely successful event to raise money for our nominated company charity SAMH, who do incredible work within their communities and across the country.”

As SAMH celebrate 100 years of supporting Scotland’s mental health, Clark Contracts have made a commitment to participate in a number of events to support SAMH and raise as much money as possible. Since June 2022, the company has raised over £10,000 for the charity.

The money raised will help SAMH with its aim of supporting people all over Scotland with their mental health.
