Clark Contracts grows academy with new apprentices

New apprentices at Clark Contracts

Six new apprentices have started their careers with construction, refurbishment and maintenance contractor, Clark Contracts.

Over 140 applications were received following on from Clark Contracts’ third annual careers evenings held in Paisley and Edinburgh in March.

As a result, 53 people were invited to attend an assessment day with the 25 highest scoring individuals asked to return for final stage interviews.

The six successful apprentices are spending four weeks working in various departments within Clark Contracts’ offices in Paisley and Edinburgh, before beginning work on site and commencing their studies at either West College Scotland, Glasgow Clyde College or Edinburgh College.

The five joinery and one painting and decorating apprentice will join the contractor’s award winning Academy which already features 20 trade apprentices and over 30 others across the business studying towards formal qualifications.

Clark Contracts is ranked at number 21 in the list of Best Companies to Work for in 2018 and won the Training Excellence Award at the UK Construction News Awards in London.
