Clark Contracts to host careers evening

As part of Scottish Apprenticeship Week, Clark Contracts is holding its seventh annual careers evening on Tuesday 7th March 2023.

The contractor, which has previously been crowned ‘Best Place to Work’ at the Construction News Talent Awards and ‘Employer of the Year’ at Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce’s ROCCO Business Awards, will have opportunities for apprentices and trainees for various trades along with quantity surveying, site management and office-based modern apprenticeships throughout the year.

The event is being held on Tuesday 7th March from 5.30pm at Clark Contracts’ Head Office at 23 McFarlane Street, Paisley, PA3 1RY. Those interested in attending can register for the event here to receive a time slot to attend.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with the company’s recruitment and HR manager, along with a range of current employees to find out more about careers at Clark Contracts and how they can progress through the company’s award-winning Academy.

The event will cover the recruitment process for the contractor’s 2023 trade apprenticeship intake, which will be launched following the event, with new apprentices then joining the business in August.

Clark Contracts is committed to ensuring new talent is recruited into the business and the industry as a whole and currently have over 35 trainees and apprentices within our Academy in a range of roles including joinery, painting and decorating, plastering, site management, quantity surveying, finance, buying, marketing and estimating.

Gordon Cunningham, managing director at Clark Contracts, said: “Our careers evening is an important part of our year with over 100 people joining in 2022 for our virtual event. In recent years we have invested heavily in the training of our employees with £750k being spent on training annually. We are committed to creating new opportunities and supporting future talent into the industry and are looking forward to welcoming everyone along to our Head Office this March.”
