Rural Stirling Housing Association (RSHA) has unveiled 14 brand new homes in the Stirlingshire village of Croftamie.
Stirling MSP Evelyn Tweed officially launched the development with tenants now in their new homes.
The £3.57 million development comprises eight cottage flats, four terraced homes and two semi-detached properties. They were built by The JR Group.
The new street name of McQueen Way is in honour of much loved Croftamie resident Agnes McQueen, who died in 2022 and lived at one time nearby. Fittingly, the opening ceremony was attended by Agnes’ younger brother John and his wife Liz, who live in nearby Drymen.

The funding to create the homes was made up of a contribution of £2.46m from the Scottish Government’s “More Homes Division”, £140,000 from Stirling Council and £972,000 from the housing association itself.
Fiona Boath, chair of RSHA, said: “These new homes represent our commitment to the communities of rural Stirlingshire and a long-standing desire to keep on building homes where people want to live. We wish the tenants every happiness in their new homes.”
Evelyn Tweed added: “At a time when Scotland is facing significant housing challenges, I’m proud to see real progress being made in Croftamie.
“These high-quality, energy-efficient homes are a clear example of the SNP Scottish Government’s commitment to tackling the housing challenges and investing in our rural communities.

“I commend Rural Stirling Housing Association, the Scottish Government and Stirling Council for their partnership in delivering high-quality, energy-efficient homes that will benefit tenants and the wider community for years to come.”
Donna Birrell, chief executive of Rural Stirling Housing Association, commented: “We are delighted to launch these new homes as we deliver brand new affordable homes in the communities we serve
“We readily acknowledge the contribution of the Scottish Government and Stirling Council in helping to make these homes a reality. The Scottish Government and Stirling Council share our vision of delivering quality affordable housing.”
The new homes offer impressive eco credentials and benefit from air source heating systems. They are highly energy efficient and economical to run.
The design team involved in the project consisted of Collective Architecture, G3 Consulting Engineers, principal designer Ardmore Point, employer’s agent Brownriggs and development agent Macdonald & Cameron.
