A Glasgow joinery and building company has swapped limestone for the limelight – after featuring on a primetime Channel 4 property show.

The work of Buildvale Ltd last night featured on Kirsty and Phil’s Love It or List series it after the company was selected to refurbish one of the homes shown on the popular programme.

Buildvale Ltd, which is based in Cumbernauld, Glasgow and covers central Scotland, showcased its talents on episode four of the 2016 series – which featured Stirling couple Duncan and Karyn as they sought a more functional home for their family and pets – including two horses.

Selected to help Kirsty Allsopp’s case for the couple to ‘love it’ and stay in their existing home, Buildvale carried out a range of construction works on the property in Carron Valley, Stirling, including a loft conversion, first floor reconfiguration, new bathroom, outside porch and kitchen.

Their work added on an extra bedroom and an upstairs family bathroom to the existing three bedroom property, along with creating a more functional kitchen space.

During the eight-week project the company also created an outside porch area with storage facilities along with moving the back entrance to be more accessible.

Thomas Murdoch, owner of Buildvale, said: “This was a great project to work on as it incorporated various elements of our building abilities and had great scope for improvement.

“We always take pride in our work but to have it filmed for a primetime television programme was a great honour and I hope that our level of professionalism and attention to detail was evident in the show.

“We are delighted that Duncan and Karyn decided to ‘love it’ and stay in their newly refurbished home and we hope that they will have many happy years there.”

As seen in the episode, currently on 4OD, the couple decided to love the house rather than list it, after seeing the amazing transformation of their home.
