EGG Lighting has delivered a two-phase floodlight replacement at Scotstoun Stadium in Glasgow, serving as the electrical contractor to the venue operator Glasgow Life.
The project saw the replacement of 96 floodlight heads across four 25-metre masts, 24 to a column, with Abacus Challenger luminaires. It replaced an installation whose as-installed drawings dated back to 2010.
The work has been sequenced around a rebuild of the stadium’s Athletics track by other contractors, with DYNAMIK Sport serving as the principal contractor.

The columns that could be lowered were agreed every morning in accordance with the track programme’s progress. The stadium was in use throughout, and no fixtures were moved.
Phase 1 was handed over in September last year ahead of Glasgow Warriors’ 2025/26 season. Phase 2 was completed early this year.
Since 2023, EGG Lighting has worked across the Scotstoun campus for Glasgow Life.
During late July, Scotstoun Stadium hosted the Athletics and Para Athletics programmes of the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
