Real estate advisor CBRE has added to its Rating team with a key appointment.

Jemima Seinuah has joined the team after completing a master’s degree in International Real Estate from the University of Aberdeen and an internship with Ryden. Prior to that Jemima worked for almost ten years as a client manager for Standard Chartered Bank in Ghana after receiving an Honours degree in Economics from the University of Science and Technology in Ghana.

Based in the Aberdeen office, Jemima will join the Rating team led by Brian Rogan and Moira Gordon. Her role will include working with CBRE’s occupier and landlord clients to provide advice and assistance on the business rates changes that the upcoming 2023 Revaluation will bring.

Brian Rogan, CBRE’s head of Rating in Scotland, said: “The 2023 Revaluation will see all businesses’ rateable values and rates costs changing and many businesses could see an increase in rates costs next year which will further add to the burden they are already facing with increasing utility prices.

“Businesses will need advice when they receive their draft notices in November as proposed new Scottish Government regulations will include strict rules and time limits to make any challenges. It will no doubt be a busy time for the team as we handle client requests for assistance with managing this change. Jemima’s appointment means we are in an even stronger position to help all the North East businesses that need advice planning for these upcoming cost changes.”

Moira Gordon added: “The addition of Jemima bolsters what is already the most experienced rating advisory team in the North East. She brings a great deal of experience from her previous finance and customer care roles which, alongside her master’s degree in real estate, meant she was a perfect fit for the expansion of our team ahead of the 2023 Revaluation.”
