The JR Group has celebrated 10 years of its construction division by raising £1,300 for the Emmie Smillie Charity Foundation.

The milestone was celebrated with a charity golf day, which was attended by employees, clients and industry partners, bringing together those who have supported the business throughout its journey while raising funds for a cause that has become synonymous with the Group’s community fundraising work.

JR Group has been an ongoing supporter of the Emmie Smillie Charity Foundation and has raised over £70,000 for the charity’s work last year alone.

Set up in 2016 in memory of Emmie Smillie, the foundation delivers financial support to cancer charities, hospices and palliative care facilities in Glasgow and Scotland’s Central Belt, in a bid to boost care and support for patients and their families.

Gary McGregor, managing director of The JR Group, said: “Celebrating ten years of our construction division gave us the perfect opportunity to reflect not only on how far we’ve come as a business, but also on the values that have shaped our journey.

“Over the past decade, we’ve grown into one of the nation’s leading construction contractors, delivering projects of every scale and complexity across the country.”

McGregor added: “Supporting the Emmie Smillie Charity Foundation is something that means a great deal to everyone at The JR Group.

“The Smillie family are close friends of the business, and we’ve seen first-hand the incredible difference the charity makes to cancer patients, families and care facilities across the Central Belt.”
