Kier recognised at education awards for Fort William school

Kier Construction won the award for its work at Caol Campus in Fort William, a £13 million state-of-the-art joint education campus that provides a vibrant learning environment for pupils and staff. Kier Construction, together with the Highland Council and architects Holmes Miller, took an innovative approach to learning and teaching to provide inspiring spaces which encourage social integration - all powered by an energy centre which provides sustainable and efficient heating.

Kier also carried out regular visits with schoolchildren throughout the build of Caol Campus and held a number of Open Doors events, providing a unique chance to see behind the scenes during the build in a bid to attract and inspire more people to consider the built environment.

Brian McQuade, managing director of Kier Construction Scotland and North East, said: “We are delighted to receive this important award, especially given the calibre of quality education projects being delivered across Scotland.

“Kier has a leading reputation for delivering first-class education facilities. We take great pride in providing quality educational establishments for staff and pupils to enjoy so it’s extra special to be recognised for the Pupil/Student Experience category.”
