Kirkwood Timber Frame, the offsite manufacturing business,  has strengthened its team with the appointment of Eoghainn Mitchell as its new head of sales for Scotland and England.

Eoghainn Mitchell, 38, from Dunfermline, joins Kirkwood Timber Frame, bringing over a decade of experience in Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) sales, and building development - most recently working for one of the country’s largest timber frame manufacturers.

His appointment is a real boost for the Aberdeenshire based business which is on target to deliver 1,000 timber frame structures to customers this year. Projects of varied scope and scale have included working with housing associations, private house builders – both regionally and nationally -commercial businesses, renovation specialists and with self-builders.

Eoghainn Mitchell said: “What attracted me to apply to Kirkwood Timber Frame was its varying customer base and its client-centred approach. The team works incredibly hard to foster relationships not only with customers but with partnering organisations as well. This means Kirkwood and its staff can be flexible, adaptable and deliver bespoke projects that still offer significant cost and time savings as part of the build programme.

“It’s collaboration with Eurocell to offer pre fitted windows and doors via the Insite system is testament to this and to date has reduced build times and costs for customers. This type of innovation and the savings that can be realised, add more weight to the argument for timber frame and how it can revolutionise build programmes.”

He added: “The support that Kirkwood offers to its clients is different to anything else I have seen within the industry. From bespoke self-build projects right through to developments of 100+ homes, the input and customer support from each department of the business and at each stage of the projects is second to none.

“I’m keen to build on our long-established reputation within the Scottish timber frame market and further develop Kirkwood’s presence in Northern England. I hope to also play a part in raising awareness and educating industry professionals on the economic and environmental benefits Timber Frame and Modern Methods of Construction can deliver, in a market hamstrung by a lack of skilled labour.”

Barbara Massie, business development director at Kirkwood Timber Frame, added: “We are thrilled to welcome Eoghainn to the team. As a business we have a reputation for the quality of our people and product, as well as our level of service and customer care.

“I am confident that Eoghainn’s appointment will help us to build upon our relationships with existing and new customers. Combined with the experience and skill of our design, technical and contracts teams we can continue to support customers through their timber frame journey from concept to planning, budgeting, design, and delivery.”
