A Law-based Boys Brigade group has received a £1,000 donation from Persimmon West Scotland after being announced as one of the homebuilder’s Community Champions.

The 1st Law Boys’ Brigade company is based in Law Village, South Lanarkshire and currently has circa seventy boys on the books with 14 Officers and helpers. The company was formed in 1955 with the aim of providing opportunities for children and young people to learn, grow and discover in a safe, fun, and caring environment which is rooted in the Christian faith.

Persimmon’s Community Champions scheme supports charities and good causes in the areas the company operates. The programme has seen more than £350,000 donated across Scotland in the last five years.

Chris Logan, Persimmon West Scotland managing director, said: “We’re delighted to support the 1st Law Boys Brigade with their camping trip and help to ensure as many of the group as possible are able to take part in what will be a really memorable experience.

“As one of South Lanarkshire’s biggest homebuilders, we’re always keen to support local organisations and I hope this will help ensure the trip is a huge success.”

Andrew Smith, Captain 1st Law Boys’ Brigade, said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive the Community Champion funding from Persimmon.

“This will enable the boys to fully partake in one of most highly anticipated events of our session, the activity camp, which given the ongoing cost of living challenge was looking unlikely again this year without Persimmon’s assistance.”
