LHC opens tender process for £100m roofing project

LHC newProcurement consortium LHC has begun the tender process for its new Pitched Roofing framework.

A contract notice for the programme, worth an estimated £100 million over four years, has now been issued by the local government organisation.

Features of the framework include the removal of existing roof coverings, the supply and installation of pitched roofing, flat to pitch conversions and associated roofing works.

The programme is likely to be used for social housing, schools and council offices roofing projects across England, Wales and Scotland.

Two value bands make up the framework across 20 regional lots, with each lot consisting of up to five companies per band. Companies are only able to tender for one band, so works valued between £5,000 and £250,000 will appeal to SMEs, while bigger companies are expected to target the band containing larger works values.

LHC director, John Skivington, said: “Our members are increasingly looking for a localised solution to service their requirements.

“This framework has been designed to encourage SME’s by splitting the tender into smaller regional lots and value bands, as well as introducing evaluation criteria aimed at assessing local economic and social sustainability.”

Interested companies should register via LHC’s e-tendering portal to ensure they receive due notification.
