Situated next to Dundee Contemporary Arts (DCA), and the site of the recently closed Casa, the venue is being fully reimagined to create a high-quality, flexible hospitality space. It will reopen as Riddoch’s in early Spring 2026

Works are progressing across the entire building, with investment focused on redesigned bar areas, improved flow and seating, and the creation of distinct spaces that can operate differently throughout the week.

The upstairs area is being developed as a more relaxed environment, featuring live music including acoustic performers, alongside chilled-out DJ sets. Outdoor spaces are also being enhanced as part of the redevelopment, adding further versatility to the venue.

Downstairs, the late-night space is being designed with flexibility in mind, allowing it to operate as a vibrant social venue while also being available for private hire. The intention is to make the space suitable for groups, societies, teams and organisations looking to curate their own events, celebrations or themed nights.

Sean Bennett, director at Riddoch’s, said: “People may remember this building from its time as Casa, but what we’re doing here goes far beyond a refurb. This is a complete change of identity, purpose and audience.

“We’re stripping the space back and rebuilding it with a different vision in mind, one that works for a wide range of people and occasions, and that feels like a positive, well-run part of Dundee’s licensed trade. Given the building’s location and history, we want Riddoch’s to be a place the city is proud to have operating.”
