Persimmon backs Crieff Highland Gathering for fourth consecutive year

Persimmon Homes North Scotland has reaffirmed its support for one of Scotland’s best-loved cultural events by sponsoring the challenge caber at the Crieff Highland Gathering for the fourth year in a row.

Held each August at Market Park, the Crieff Highland Gathering is one of the highlights of Scotland’s traditional games calendar, attracting thousands of spectators to the Perthshire town. First staged in 1870, the event is a celebration of Scottish heritage and community spirit, featuring a packed programme of athletics, cycling, Highland dancing, piping, tug o’ war and the ever-popular heavyweight competitions.

The challenge caber remains one of the centrepieces of the day, drawing crowds as some of the country’s strongest athletes compete in one of the most iconic disciplines in Highland Games competition.

Persimmon’s continued sponsorship reflects the company’s commitment to supporting local communities across Scotland. Through its Community Champions initiative, the homebuilder has also supported a number of organisations in Crieff and the surrounding area, including Crieff Connexions, Friends of MacRosty Park and the Crieff at Christmas Group.

James MacKay, regional managing director of Persimmon Homes Scotland, said: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring the Crieff Highland Gathering for a fourth consecutive year. The event is a fantastic celebration of Scotland’s traditions and a wonderful example of the strong community spirit that makes Crieff such a special place.

“At Persimmon, we are committed to supporting the communities where we build, and the Gathering is an important part of the local calendar. We look forward to another memorable day at Market Park this summer.”
