Redpath embarks on annual Christmas toy drive

Redpath Construction will this week make its annual big donation of Christmas toys thanks to the support of its clients and supply chain.

This time of year can be extremely difficult to afford for many families living in the communities where the contractor works. The cost of living crisis has compounded the impossible choice between heating and eating, with the prospect of affording luxuries like toys being completely out of reach.

For the fifth year, Redpath has joined forces with its staff, supply chain and clients to gather both new and pre-loved toys which will be donated to the Jimmy Dunnachie Family Centre in Darnley and Green Trees Nursery in Dalmarnock on Friday 15th December.

The hard-working staff at both centres will regift the toys to the families who need it most, making sure that every child receives a toy from Santa.

Susan Cardwell, Redpath marketing & business development manager, said: “I started the toy drive initially as my three kids were donating their toys to charity shops ahead of Christmas and as a contractor delivering projects in local communities, I thought that we could do more to help families living close to us.

“Given my role, it made complete sense to reach out to our clients, consultants and suppliers to get as many parents on board as possible and it has been really successful each year, this year being no exception. The generosity of over 35 companies involved has been humbling and heart-warming. Their donations will make such a huge difference to the families that each centre supports and I would like to say thank-you to them all.”
