Rettie’s current chief operating officer Becky Lindsay is taking up the position of chief executive officer while founding director Simon Rettie is entering the chair role at the company.
Having founded the company in 1993, Simon will maintain focus on future growth, with day-to-day operations being handed over to Lindsay who has worked at the firm for more than 20 years.
An executive management team is being formed to work with Lindsay, with new positions and structure due to be implemented as of January next year.
They will join Alan Cumming, head of sales and financial services, as well as David Gibson, finance director, to form the new executive management team.
Simon Rettie said: “This is a story of continuity, stability, growth, and building for the future. We couldn’t be happier to have Becky in the new role, supported by a talented group of executives.”
Lindsay joined the firm in 2004 from IKEA Group, and later became director of new homes and then chief operating officer, a position Lindsay held since 2010.
Lindsay said: “Rettie has grown to be Scotland’s preeminent property firm under Simon’s leadership, and I look forward to continuing to shape future growth across the business in the years ahead.”
Rettie has expanded its activity in Edinburgh over the last year with a new Edinburgh South office in Morningside to serve the city’s EH9 and EH10 Postcodes. Having average house prices considerably higher than Edinburgh as a whole, these are two of Scotland’s highest performing housing areas.
