Taylor Wimpey West Scotland has made good on its promise to donate £25 to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) for each new home sold and legally completed at its two new developments in Troon.

The third tranche of £1,525 was donated to the charity by Taylor Wimpey West Scotland in April this year, which brings the overall donation paid so far to £3,450 towards the grand sum of £5,650 that has been pledged to the RNLI, with all money going directly to the local RNLI Troon Lifeboat Station.

The donation recognises the ongoing long-term relationship between Taylor Wimpey West Scotland and the RNLI with the money contributing towards the amazing life-saving services the RNLI Troon Lifeboat Station provides. The charity aims to use volunteers wherever possible and with voluntary donations, this donation contributes to funds which are necessary to make this achievable and will help with the RNLI’s overall aim to keep lives safe at sea.

The RNLI has a vital role within the community of Troon, and the local lifeboat station covers the lower Firth of Clyde with its two lifeboats. The crew members are dedicated to keeping the local community safe and they have received three RNLI medals for gallantry.

Commenting on the continuing support that it receives from Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, Jean Shields, RNLI Troon vice president said: “We are extremely grateful for the ongoing support that we have received from Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, and we can’t thank them enough for their third generous donation, which takes us well over 50% towards the grand total they pledged. This money will be put to work locally to help us achieve the overall aim of our service to the local community. On behalf of everyone at RNLI, I would like to say a huge thank you.”

Audrey Ross, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: ”We are delighted to be able to continue our support the RNLI at its Troon Lifeboat Station. Our donation of £3,450 to-date reflects the continuation of a long- term relationship with this essential local charity and service that provides a link between the new community that is growing at Princess Gate and Queens Court, and the existing community of Troon. Working with the RNLI is a real honour and we are extremely proud to be delivering on our overall commitment to them for the duration of our build period in Troon.

“Being able to work with local charities and organisations that surround our developments means a great deal to us, and it’s always lovely to know that we are helping to make a difference to the lives of people in our local communities.”

Taylor Wimpey West Scotland’s donation to RNLI is one of the many contributions being made by the housebuilder towards community facilities and infrastructure in the wider area.
