Russell Roof Tiles goes back to school in Lochmaben
Roof tile manufacturer Russell Roof Tiles this week attended a local jobs fair at Lochmaben Primary School as part of its education programme for young people.
Employing 60 staff at its 11-acre Halleaths site, Russell Roof Tiles manufactures roof tiles that are used on homes and commercial sites across the UK.
Two members of staff from Russell Roof Tiles attended the event which was organised for local businesses to present to all primary classes, from P1-P7.
Assistant works manager Adam Clark and production administrator Debbie Geddes attended on behalf of Russell Roof Tiles and shared their experiences working at the business. Adam joined on the manufacturer’s graduate trainee programme three years ago.
Bruce Laidlaw, production director at Russell Roof Tiles, said: “The team was delighted to be invited to the school and give the pupils an insight into us as a local business in the area, what we do and what we can offer. Despite ongoing concerns with coronavirus, it was a very well attended event with a large volume of the children showing interest.”
