New figures show a dramatic rise in the number of people on modern apprenticeships. Analysis by the Scottish National Party of statistics from Skills Development Scotland reveals that 25,247 individuals began learning on the job in 2014/15 – up 59.7 per cent on the 15,803 recorded in 2007/08.
