Site manager David is pride of Bellway East
Bellway Homes Ltd (Scotland East) senior site manager David Banks is celebrating winning a top building industry award for his work at Charlotte Gate in Perth.
He is one of just 450 site managers from a field of more than 11,000 to have won a Quality Award in the first round of the NHBC’s Pride in the Job Awards 2020, which celebrate their 40th anniversary this year.
The flagship competition is dedicated to honouring site managers who achieve the very highest standards in housebuilding.
This award is particularly significant as it is the first of its kind to be won by the Scotland East Division since it was launched in August 2018.
David, who lives in Tullibody in Clackmannanshire and started with Bellway in 2007, said: “It was a lovely surprise and I am absolutely thrilled and delighted to be recognised by the NHBC for my work and being selected for such a prestigious award. I am especially pleased and proud of the wider Bellway East Scotland team and supply chain who have supported me in achieving this fantastic and without whom this would not be possible.”
Iain Allison, regional director, Bellway Homes Ltd (Scotland East), said: “In these extremely challenging times it’s wonderful to get such good news and we are so proud of David who is a very talented and hard working site manager. He sets a great example to all those who work with him and works tirelessly to delight our customers with the high quality of homes his team build.
“We are a relatively new division so for David to win this honour and on the 40th anniversary of the Awards is fantastic. I am confident that it will be the first of many as we have assembled such a strong team here.”
NHBC chief executive Steve Wood said: “Pride in the Job has been pivotal in improving the quality of new homes so it’s fantastic to be able to celebrate its 40th anniversary. Despite the numerous challenges the industry has faced in recent times, the very best site managers of 2020 have kept their focus on delivering high quality new homes for their customers.
“At NHBC we are very proud of Pride in the Job, what it stands for and the impact it has had and continues to have across the sector.
“As our new research shows, it’s no surprise that Pride in the Job winning sites have higher levels of homeowner satisfaction as these homes are without doubt among the best the country has to offer.”
