In total, 33 teams took part from across the UK with over £116,000 being raised for charity. The team from Taylor Wimpey East Scotland raised over £6,000 and they have donated £1,540 to Maggie’s Fife-base in Kirkcaldy, £1,540 to 23rd Fife Leven Scout Group based in Leven and raised just over £3,000 for the Youth Adventure Trust.

Members of the Taylor Wimpey East Scotland team took part in a gruelling two-day challenge which saw them build their own shelter before trekking 26 miles through the incredible mountains of the Peak District.

Samantha Thirlwall for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, and member of the fundraising team who completed the challenge, said: “Without a doubt, this was one of the toughest Taylor Wimpey Challenges so far, but the sense of team spirit in both of our teams from East Scotland was incredible from beginning to end.

“It’s been a real test of endurance and teamwork, but the money we have raised for Maggie’s Fife, the 23rd Fife Leven Scout Group and the Youth Adventure Trust has made it all so worthwhile. It’s always fantastic to see so many colleagues getting into the spirit of this event and having fun, all while raising much-needed funds for really worthy causes.”

Adam Kent from Maggie’s Fife added: “We are extremely grateful for this support that we have received from Taylor Wimpey, and we can’t thank the teams enough for taking part in this very tough challenge. Donations are vitally important to us to ensure we are here for patients and families when they need us most.”

Commenting on behalf of 23rd Fife Leven Scouts, Craig Christie said: “This donation from the team at Taylor Wimpey is warmly welcomed and we already have plans to make some repairs to our meeting hall with the funds that we have received. We provide weekly meetings for beavers, cubs and Scouts and this donation will be put to great use.”
