JR Group provides local communities in time for Christmas

In an effort to spread some Christmas cheer, The JR Group donated more than £1,300 in gift cards and a sleigh full of 1,000 selection boxes, to charities and organisations in need across central Scotland.

The Paisley-based construction group, with the help of its suppliers and partners, collected hundreds of gift cards to be delivered to maintenance contractor HomeFix Scotland and Street Soccer Scotland – who provide football-themed training and personal development opportunities for socially-disadvantaged groups across Scotland.

As well as the gift cards, the team also donated a collection of woolly hats to the group to share with their players across Scotland.

In addition to this, the JR Group selected nine groups across the country to support this Christmas including Royal Hospital for Sick Children Edinburgh, Sanderson Wynd Primary School in Tranent, Williamsburgh Early Learning Centre in Paisley, Helensburgh & Lomond Carers, St Ninians Primary School in Stirling, Lundavra Primary School in Fort William, Three Bears Nursery in Renfrew, Ibrox Primary in Govan and Renfrewshire Foodbank.

These bumper donations were distributed earlier this week by The JR Group elves, who hand-delivered the selection boxes of treats to each group – helping to provide some extra presents for those in need this Christmas.

John Horne, managing director of The JR Group, is incredibly passionate about the firm’s role to play in supporting charities at Christmas year after year. He said: “We are committed to keeping the Christmas spirit alive this year. It is a key time for ourselves and our partners to come together and help to make people smile.

“As well as our selection boxes, we were thrilled to hand over such a healthy amount of gift cards to Street Soccer Scotland, who we have supported previously as a shirt sponsor. We hope this will go a long way in ensuring that the young people they support will have a happy festive season.

“The organisations and groups we have supported this year span the central belt of Scotland from East Lothian to Govan with many other locations in between, so I would like to thank our team, our business partners, suppliers and their colleagues for helping with this year’s drive and making it such a success.”
