Tilbury Douglas secures more than £500m of project awards

Tilbury Douglas, the UK regional building, fit-out, infrastructure and engineering business, has gained over £500 million of project awards during the first six months of this year.

Its current order book stands at £1.7 billion, showing a rise of over 20% compared with the same period last year.

From 30 June this year, the business returned to a positive net asset position, with its Dunn & Bradstreet rating now being at 84.

Early in 2026, the business maintained its position on the current Department for Education (DfE) framework and gained a place on the DfE’s £15.4bn Construction Framework 2025 in the High Value Band (projects over £12m) for the North and South lots.

Supporting DfE’s standardisation agenda, Tilbury Douglas has also adopted its own Industrial Construction Strategy, focusing on platform-based procurement.

The business also saw the rebrand of its fit-out service line, Paragon, to Tilbury Douglas Fit-Out, creating a more distinct identity.

Craig Tatton, chief executive officer at Tilbury Douglas, commented: “Following a successful 2025, our order book continues to grow and is now £1.7bn.

“Being awarded more than £500m of work in the first half of 2026 represents a strong start to the year and reflects the confidence our customers place in us.”

Tatton added: “Our return to a positive net asset position, alongside the significant improvement in our Dunn & Bradstreet score, demonstrates the continued strengthening of the business.

“Our regional building service line is making good progress in all the devolved regions, fit-out is getting increased recognition, our engineering business is growing its volume of external and end-user work and in Infrastructure we are seeing our AMP8 water pipeline develop strongly.

“The launch of our Industrial Construction Strategy is also driving a more collaborative approach across Tilbury Douglas, further strengthening the combination of our regional presence and national capability.”
