Tilbury Douglas welcomes industry partners to Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo business breakfast

Tilbury Douglas welcomed more than 100 consultants, customers and designers to its fifth consecutive business breakfast at The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo stadium on 26 August, as the company celebrates its 13-year partnership with the Tattoo.

The event took place within the temporary 9,000-seat stadium constructed by Tilbury Douglas on Edinburgh Castle Esplanade each year. The venue hosts 24 Tattoo performances throughout August, welcoming more than 220,000 spectators.

Now in its fifth year, the annual breakfast provides an opportunity to bring together key industry partners and share updates from across the business. Barry O’Hagan, regional director – Scotland at Tilbury Douglas, provided an overview of Tilbury Douglas’ recent activity across Scotland. In addition, Andrew Parker, defence sector director, shared an update on the company’s work in defence and its position in the sector.

As part of the morning, guests enjoyed a performance from Tattoo performers, followed by networking and a roof tour.

The tour provided guests with an opportunity to see first-hand the scale of the temporary venue and learn more about its delivery. Constructing the stadium each year is a significant logistical and engineering undertaking, involving more than 800 tonnes of steel, while Edinburgh Castle remains open to thousands of visitors each day.

Barry O’Hagan said: “This year’s breakfast was another great success, and it was fantastic to spend time with customers and partners from across the industry. We place a great deal of value on the relationships we have built over the years and events like this give us an opportunity to strengthen those relationships away from our day-to-day projects.

“This year also marks 13 years of our partnership with The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, which is something we’re very proud of. Our team puts a considerable amount of work into delivering the stadium each year and it is a privilege to be involved in an event of this significance to Scotland.

“Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this year’s breakfast another success.”
