NHS Lanarkshire has been given the go-ahead to develop an outline business case to rebuild or refurbish Monklands Hospital. The approval of the initial agreement to seek a capital allocation for the project means the health board can move on to the next phase of planning.

Plans that could lead to a major new development to replace the existing Monklands Hospital moved a significant step closer last week. The Board of NHS Lanarkshire has approved an Initial Agreement (IA) to rebuild the hospital or conduct a substantial refurbishment at the existing site.
Graham Construction has completed work on the state-of-the-art Critical Care Unit (CCU) at Monklands Hospital in Airdrie. The £5.5 million 10-bed unit, which has been handed over to NHS Lanarkshire, is just one of 12 phased work projects that Graham Construction will complete by Spring 2018 as part

Graham Construction has handed over the £19 million Wishaw Health Centre to NHS Lanarkshire. Named the Houldsworth Centre, the building marks the third successful handover to NHS Lanarkshire and the eleventh successful handover for hub South West, having now delivered over £60m worth of projects.
