A £5 million hydro scheme for one of Scotland’s most protected natural sites has been given the green light by Angus councillors.

A Glasgow waste management firm has been fined after waste was illegally dumped in North Lanarkshire. CMI Demolition Limited received a £16,000 fine at Airdrie Sheriff Court after the company failed to ensure the proper disposal of waste from their facility between March and June 2011.
