Chris Wozencroft
Engineering and construction firm Burns & McDonnell has appointed Chris Wozencroft as commercial manager for Scotland, a key role supporting the delivery of major transmission and distribution projects across the country.
Based in the company’s Glasgow office, Chris will lead commercial activities across the Burns & McDonnell Scottish portfolio, with a particular focus on the firm’s projects for SSEN Transmission. He will oversee commercial processes, support project teams and help drive the continued growth of the business’ presence in Scotland’s rapidly expanding energy infrastructure market.
Prior to joining Burns & McDonnell, Chris spent five years as senior commercial manager at SPL Powerlines, where he supported the delivery of Network Rail Scotland’s railway electrification and decarbonisation programme. His experience also includes work across Scottish water frameworks, mechanical and electrical contracting, and major construction projects, providing him with a broad understanding of complex infrastructure delivery.
In his new role, Chris will focus on supporting growth across the Burns & McDonnell commercial team in Scotland, strengthening relationships with clients and supply chain partners, and helping secure future project opportunities. Working with colleagues from the three Burns & McDonnell offices across the UK, he will play an important role in ensuring the successful delivery of critical transmission and distribution infrastructure projects.
This appointment comes at a time of continued investment in Scotland’s electricity network, with demand growing for new transmission infrastructure to support the country’s energy transition ambitions. As project pipelines expand, strong commercial leadership will be essential to managing supply chain challenges, attracting industry talent and delivering projects efficiently and safely.
Chris Wozencroft, commercial manager for Scotland at Burns & McDonnell, said: “I’m excited to be joining Burns & McDonnell at such an important time for the transmission and distribution sector.
“The scale of investment planned across Scotland presents significant opportunities, and I’m looking forward to working with our teams and clients to help deliver the infrastructure that communities and businesses rely on every day. My focus will be on supporting our people, strengthening client relationships and helping grow our presence in Scotland through the successful delivery of projects.”
Jason Chandler, UK transmission & distribution managing director at Burns & McDonnell, said: “Chris brings a wealth of commercial and infrastructure experience, alongside a strong track record of supporting complex project delivery across multiple sectors.
“His knowledge of the Scottish market and collaborative approach make him an excellent addition to our team as we continue to expand our transmission and distribution capabilities across the UK. We are delighted to welcome him to Burns & McDonnell.”
Kyle Roberts, executive managing director & vice president at Burns & McDonnell UK, said: “The opportunities within Scotland’s energy infrastructure sector continue to grow, and attracting experienced commercial leaders is critical to our success.
“Chris’s experience in commercial management and his understanding of major infrastructure programmes will help strengthen our ability to deliver value for clients and support the long-term development of our operations in Scotland.”
