Clark Contracts donates household items to Fresh Start Scotland

Clark Contracts has donated a range of household items to Fresh Start Scotland, which will be used to create ‘starter packs’ which are packs of essential household items to help someone set up their new home or sustain their tenancy in a dignified way.
Over £1,200 was raised for the donations, during an employee fundraising event which involved a bake sale, raffle and a variety of games, with these funds used to donate a variety of household items including microwaves, kettles, cushions, bedding and more.
Fresh Start helps people who have been homeless get established in their new homes. Working in partnership with volunteers and organisations from a broad section of the community, they deliver a range of services that provide the practical and social support that helps people resettle successfully.
Gordon Cunningham, managing director at Clark Contracts, said: “We are pleased to support such a vital charity through the donation of supplies for their starter packs. We hope these contributions provide meaningful assistance to those who need it most.”
Darcey Joyce at Fresh Start said: “Fresh Start is very grateful for Clark Contracts’ donation of essential household items to the Starter Pack service.
“Donations like these go a long way in helping people make a home for themselves following periods of homelessness across Edinburgh. We rely heavily on donations from the public to create Starter Packs.
“Last year, with the help of organisations like Clark Contracts, Fresh Start distributed approximately 18,000 starter packs to around 2000 households transitioning from homelessness across the city. Without the generosity of organisations and individuals this wouldn’t be possible – thank you.”
