Dandara and JSL spread Easter cheer to Shawfair and Millerhill community

Residents of Millerhill within the Shawfair development experienced an Easter filled with joy, thanks to the generous contributions of Dandara East Scotland and JSL Services Ltd.

Their joint donation enabled an Easter-themed celebration to take place at the recently opened Millerhill Community Hub on Friday 12th April, featuring activities such as a “Build a Barrel Garden” competition. Organised by the dedicated members of the Millerhill Residents Group & the Millerhill Community Gardeners, the event drew over 70 children and their families.

The children and adults delighted in planting vibrant barrels with the winning entry having a ‘Love and Happiness’ theme - all six of the beautifully decorated garden barrels are now situated around Millerhill for all of the residents to enjoy. An Easter Egg hunt was also organised with plenty of eggs available to be hunted down and enjoyed by all from the local community.

Dandara, renowned for crafting exceptional family homes, is shaping the Shawfair community through both their esteemed development and by supporting local events and groups in the area. Meanwhile, JSL Services diligently manages security operations across the masterplan area, striving to maintain a safe and pristine environment for all residents.

Expressing her delight, Deborah Lindsay, managing director of JSL Services Ltd, said: “It was truly heartwarming to contribute to spreading Easter joy within the community where we are active on many projects as well as basing our business Head Office. When Shawfair Project Manager, Ian Dewar (Thomas & Adamson), approached us for some financial assistance for this event, we readily embraced the opportunity to make it happen. Community support for events like this are a fantastic way to bring us all together.”

Claire Ross, from the Millerhill Residents Group, emphasised the significance of the donations from Dandara & JSL Services, adding: “The generous contributions enabled us to host a memorable Easter Event that engaged individuals of all ages. Such events like this help to create a vibrant community spirit and makes the area a great place to live.”

Tony Williamson, sales director of Dandara East Scotland, said: “Having completed a successful site at the Shawfair consortium last year, it’s wonderful to be able to continue working with organisations like the Millerhill Residents Group. They are doing a fantastic job at bringing the community together through events like this one.

“Here at Dandara East Scotland, we are continuing our work in the Midlothian area, with our Eskbank Gardens development located just over 1.5 miles from Shawfair. Dalkeith is a terrific place to be so we’re pleased to be able to continue collaborating with those who live in the area.”
