Whiteburn team goes back to school in Burntisland

The team from Whiteburn’s The Grange development in Burntisland were special guests at Burntisland Primary School recently where they took the opportunity to give a safety presentation and remind pupils about the potential dangers of construction sites as work continues to progress well at the site.

The visit included an opportunity for the children to learn more about the on-site health and safety measures, the types of machinery they might see working at the site, and a chance to try on some of the safety gear the site operatives need to wear.

It’s all about being involved in all aspects of community life and widening awareness of the construction industry as Eve McCurrich, managing director for Whiteburn explained: “Our key objective is to engage with the local community and broaden awareness of the industry, realise the potential of this development and to create a great place for people to live in Burntisland. But we’re also mindful that we want to be more than just a developer, we also want to be part of the local community.

“Visiting Burntisland Primary School was an ideal opportunity for us to do that, we love the opportunity to present to local children, while also making sure that our message to never play near a construction site was shared in a positive, constructive and fun way.”

Miss Julie Anderson, headteacher at Burntisland Primary School, added: “Our children really enjoyed the fun and informative presentation by the Whiteburn team, and it was refreshing to see the importance the team placed on sharing their message about staying safe near a construction site. When you consider that some of our children will pass the development site on their walk to school, it’s important that they are aware of the key things that will help keep them safe.”

Whiteburn is working in partnership with Ground Developments Ltd to deliver this small development of 12 homes, and the remaining few properties are now available for sale.
