North Lanarkshire Council has agreed a £16.9 million agreement with Network Rail for a new bridge crossing the West Coast Main Line as part of work to upgrade the road connections between Motherwell and Ravenscraig.

Vacant and derelict land next to Bluebell Wood within the grounds of Johnstone Castle is set to provide 76 homes for social rent. The development will be managed by Link and Linstone Housing under new plans filed with Renfrewshire Council.

Progress continues to be made on increasing the availability of social housing in the West Calder area. Springfield Partnerships, is working on the delivery of 69 new affordable homes for West Lothian Council at their Mossend site in West Calder.
