Link and McTaggart launch films celebrating triple award-winning development

Housing association Link Group and McTaggart Construction have launched a series of short films highlighting their triple award-winning Glasgow development this week.

The film focuses on Riverside Dalmarnock, which won both the Affordable Housing Development of Year and Housing Regeneration Project of the Year at last week’s Scottish Home Awards, together with the Large Development of the Year award at last month’s Homes for Scotland awards.

Colin Culcross, Link Group commercial director, said: “It is fantastic to mark the delivery of these homes with both an award win and by launching the vibrant and engaging films, which capture what it means to create places people want to live.

“Helping to create sustainable communities by delivering high-quality affordable homes is rewarding work in itself, however, the external validation of both the Homes for Scotland and Scottish Home Awards panels also testament to everyone involved in the delivering these high-quality homes.

“I believe each of the short films truly capture the difference these new homes have already made to people and families in Glasgow.

“All of which was made possible by our partnership funders at the Scottish Government and Glasgow City Council, and architects Hypostyle Architects and builders McTaggart Construction.”

Link’s Riverside Dalmarnock development will provide 356 homes for a mixture of affordable rent, mid market rent (MMR) and New Supply Shared Equity (NSSE) sale and 206 private purchase provided by Laurel Homes.

McTaggart Construction director Janice Russell added: “McTaggart Construction is delighted to have worked in partnership with Link and the wider team on this award-winning development at Riverside Dalmarnock.

“We are extremely proud of the impact it has had to date through the regeneration of the land itself and the creation of local employment and community engagement opportunities and we are excited to see the next phases coming to life.’

The films, created by Glasgow-based video, film and animation production company Heehaw, are available to watch on YouTube.

Following the completion of Phases 1 and 2, Riverside Dalmarnock Phase 3, currently on site will provide 32 homes for general needs affordable rent, 48 homes for retirement housing affordable rent and 49 homes for mid-market rent with an anticipated availability date of September 2023.

Riverside Dalmarnock is also in the running for the Architecture: Regeneration award at this Wednesday’s Scottish Design Awards.
