Detailed plans for a new school in Dalbeattie have been unveiled.

The £28.7 million replacement of a Dundee secondary school could come a step closer next week if councillors back the next stage in the process.

Construction works are underway on the latest Premier Inn to be built in the capital. The development at York Place is for a new 127-bed hotel for Whitbread PLC in the heart of Edinburgh's New Town.
