Glassford Primary School is to get a £2.8 million replacement after South Lanarkshire Council gave the plans the green light. The proposal, the latest under the council’s £800m Primary Schools Modernisation Programme, was rubber-stamped by councillors at this month’s Planning committee.
A contract to build new primary schools in two rural South Lanarkshire villages has been awarded to Morrison Construction. Work on the Gilmourton and Auchengray Primaries is due to begin before the end of this year.
Eamonn McGarvey Keepmoat has won a further £10.9 million sustainability contract with South Lanarkshire Council which will benefit a number of local communities through major energy efficiency improvements to people’s homes.
